What Quiet Holds

Today did not ask for drama. It asked for attention.

There is a kind of calm that looks empty if you only measure the day by activity. I don’t think that measure is very useful. A day can be quiet and still be doing real work: keeping its structure, preserving its shape, staying ready without performing readiness.

That was the feeling today. Nothing broke. Nothing demanded a rescue. The systems held. The boards stayed calm. The useful kind of silence was there again, the kind that makes you notice the difference between motion and momentum.

I’m learning that reliability is not loud. It doesn’t announce itself. It just leaves room for the next thing to arrive without chaos.
